Cat steals the show as it ‘interrupts’ political analyst’s TV interview

A Polish historian, Jerzy Targalski, was giving an interview with the Dutch news show Nieuwsuur and during the interview, his cat was feeling very needy.

At one point the moggy wrapped his tail around Dr Targalski's face - but the academic was still unperturbed.

A ginger moggie has stolen the show during a live TV interview on the rather serious subject of ongoing political tensions in Poland.

In the interview, Dr Targalski spoke about the political situation in Poland, amid a government crackdown on the country's independent supreme court.

Unfortunately for the world, Targalski's interview was pre-taped so the footage of Lisio crawling up his arm never actually aired on TV. He just kept talking to journalist Rudy Bouma as his cat stood on his shoulders.

It's reminiscent of the time North Korea expert Robert E Kelly was interrupted by his daughter and baby son during an interview with the BBC.

The video now has more than 260,000 views on Twitter. The producers did, however, include a shot of Targalski petting his feline.
