Former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight dies at age 39

Former UCLA guard Billy Knight was found dead in Phoenix early Sunday morning, according to the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.

According to Yahoo Sports, CaHi Sports Journalist Ronnie Flores states that a number of UCLA basketball community members tried to reach out to Knight after he posted the video.

"I felt like I didn't belong here on earth". I isolated myself from my family members. Life is not a game. It was the second death of an ex-Bruin this week. "I isolated myself from my friends, and that's not something you should do". He follows by admitting to a life of sin, discussing mental illness, and apologizing to his family and friends.

Honeycutt died after a police standoff in Sherman Oaks, Calif. Knight averaged 14.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in his senior season for the Bruins before a brief global basketball stint in Japan. "No officers were injured and it's unknown if the suspect was struck", said the Los Angeles Police Department at the time.

He said he heard voices and didn't know where they came from. "I just ask God for forgiveness for all the wrong I've done".

His death comes just days after another former UCLA Basketball star Tyler Honeycutt shot and killed himself during a police standoff last Friday.

Knight wasn't picked in the 2002 National Basketball Association draft and played professionally in France and Japan. Speaking to the Los Angeles Daily news, Escoto said that "Honeycutt had been going through some things." . At the time of his death, he had been on the staff of the Northern Arizona Suns, a developmental G league team affiliated with the NBA's Phoenix Suns.
