Former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight found dead at age 39

Names from across the sports world reacted to news of Knight's death on social media.

According to court records in Maricopa County, Arizona, prosecutors charged Knight with two counts apiece for sexual conduct with a minor, sexual abuse and molestation of a child. Later in the video he says "I just feel like I don't belong here on Earth".

Phoenix Police responded after Knight was found by Phoenix Fire and pronounced dead. "And I stole", he said in the emotional video. "Officers say, 'No evidence of foul play was detected, ' but the body has been sent to the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death".

'I wasn't honest with a lot of people. even my mom, my brother and my family members. He detailed his struggle with mental illness, saying, "I isolated myself from my family members".

The 39-year-old Knight was a guard/forward at UCLA from 1998-2002, averaging 14.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as a senior. If this happens, you probably have a mental illness.

Knight's death came just days after Tyler Honeycutt, 27, fatally shot himself during a standoff with police on Friday.

He talks about depression and apologizes to loved ones in the video.

Knight cited his religion, saying "I am sorry, Lord", and acknowledged that he could end up in heaven, hell or somewhere in between.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, Knight played professionally in France and Japan and worked as a basketball skills coach. Following his playing career, he would become a basketball operations assistant for the G-League's Northern Arizona Suns, an affiliate of the Phoenix Suns, from 2016-2017.

Knight, who played for the Bruins from 1997 season through the 2001 season, said he was advised to get help in the video.
