Fortnite Season 5's v5.0 patch notes and opening cinematic

For season 5, Epic is changing things up adding new locations called Paradise Palms and Lazy Links, and there are new unnamed POIs too across the island.

There's a lot more to explore in the latest Season 5 update and you can check out the full patch notes here. Grab your squad and cruise the map in style!

The roof acts as a bounce pad. Squads will also be able to jump the ATK over obstacles. Epic has brought some of them down to earth in the form of Rifts. It remains unclear how exactly this will work, but it's possible that players will be sucked into a Rift and be teleported to a different location. Update v5.0's patch notes inform the centres of Storm Circles 7, 8 and 9 can now shift in random directions, as opposed to shrinking as normal. However, the first storm circle will now only ever do 1 damage, no matter how long you're stuck in it. This should provide players with more information on why their point blank hits are only registering small damages. Heavy shotguns have been given a 10 pellet magazine, instead of 5, and the ability to double pump has been reduced with the introduction of a shot delay. But it's a mere dint in the $100 million kitty Epic Games has set aside for a number of tournaments over the next few years, which shows just how much excitement there is around this game.

One of the biggest gameplay adjustments involves the shotgun, with the development team creating a short amount of time between switching between two of the weapon.

In 50v50 or 20v20 modes, you'll now get bonus XP up to three times per match for reviving teammates.

Auto-fire has also been added as an option in the iOS game - you can toggle it on and off in the settings menu.
