Kenedy finishes medical ahead of Newcastle loan

According to the Daily Mail the Magpies are close to agree a loan deal with Chelsea.

Kenedy returned to pre-season training with Chelsea on Monday, but will now travel to Newcastle on Monday evening ahead of the move.

Brazilian Kenedy spent the final four months of last season at St James' Park, scoring twice in 13 games.

Rafa Benitez was so impressed with what he saw of Kenedy, he's made his move to re-sign him.

His long-term future at Chelsea is uncertain, particularly due to the confusing managerial situation at the club.

He is also thought to be open to a permanent move to Newcastle United, but his preference is to stay put at Chelsea and play regular football for the Premier League giants in the coming seasons.

Napoli and Chelsea are yet to agree compensation for the incoming Blues boss Maurizio Sarri - with Napoli demanding €20m - while Antonio Conte is yet to officially leave the club.

However, it isn't clear at this stage whether or not they will be handed the option of purchasing him outright at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

The defender enjoyed a fantastic season in the Premier League recently and it's believed that a host of top-flight clubs have expressed an interest in signing him from Newcastle.
