Unai Emery sends message to board over Aaron Ramsey contract

Lucas Torreira, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Matteo Guendouzi and Stephan Lichtsteiner have all joined, while Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Per Mertesacker are among those to have moved on - although the latter remains with the Gunners as academy manager.

Torreira becomes Unai Emery's fourth signing of the summer transfer window as the new man in charge at Arsenal looks to assemble a squad capable of challenging for trophies next season.

"In this moment I think the squad is complete, only the possibility for one player or two players to leave".

"The first two weeks for us is to start knowing the club, knowing the players, knowing all the people who are working with us". Then, we are looking at, looking for, who are the players whose personality is the best in the dressing room.

"[His new contract] is a question for the player and for the club". "Today, we are OK". It gives me great pride - it's incredible.

"Normally, we are thinking about the young players, the possibility of them staying with us or going to play on loan at another team".

Sevilla's Steven Nzonzi is another player in Emery's sights. Strengthening the midfield was a top priority for Emery this offseason, and he's made some moves to try and make that happen.

Aaron Ramsey is in talks with Arsenal over a new contract.

Ramsey has entered the final year of his Gunners deal and Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona have been tentatively linked with him amid his contractual stand-off.

Arsenal boss Emery has already had a busy summer, making five signings after succeeding Arsene Wenger.

'In my opinion, I've said to Ivan [Gazidis], Raul [Sanllehi] and Sven [Mislintat] that I think he's an important player for me. I'm very happy with him. I want to win every game - that's really important to me.
