Clement Lenglet Completes Transfer to Barcelona from Sevilla on 5-Year Contract

According to Sport, Sevilla defender Clement Lenglet will soon become the Catalan club's second signing of the transfer window.

La Blaugrana paid Lenglet's full €35m release clause after failing to negotiate a lower fee for the France worldwide.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract with a buyout clause valued at €300 million, it added.

The Spanish giants were reportedly hoping to pay the fee in instalments, but Sevilla have apparently made it clear they would not enter into talks with Barca.

After joining Sevilla from Nantes for €3.5m in January of 2017, Lenglet impressed in La Liga and the Champions League last season, his first full season in Spanish football.

Do you think Lenglet will be a success at Barca if he joins?

Manager Ernesto Valverde will likely use France youth worldwide Lenglet alongside Thomas Vermaelen as back-ups for starting centre-back duo Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti.

Lenglet is Barca's second signing of the close season after midfielder Arthur Melo.

Three goals in three games capped an impressive World Cup for Colombia's Mina, who will have no shortage of takers if Barca decide to sell this summer.
