Joe Arpaio says he was duped by Sacha Baron Cohen

The comedian drew ire from the former Alaska governor by posing as a military veteran to draw Palin into an ambush interview for his new show, "Who is America?".

Former Alabama judge Roy Moore is the latest conservative to admit they were fooled by a Sacha Baron Cohen spoof for his forthcoming series, Who Is America?

Palin took to Facebook to air her rage at Cohen in a lengthy screed on Tuesday. Cohen, in character as Dr. Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr., shot back on Twitter today, saying he never told Palin he was a war vet, but rather a veteran of "United Parcel". She was greeted by a man in a wheelchair, presumably Cohen, who identified himself as a veteran and proceeded to conduct "a long interview full of Hollywoodism's disrespect and sarcasm".

"Ruddick, a totally real individual who only joined Twitter back in April, went on to tell Palin he "[has] always admired you for TELLING THE TRUTH about Obama's birth certificate and the location of Russian Federation.

His suspicions we apparently confirmed when the line of questioning began, the comedian making a series of sexual references using the terms "hand job", "blowjob" and "golden shower", according to Arpaio, who called the words "hard for me to hear". "So why hunt a fine citizen journalist like myself?" the letter states.

A character of Sacha Baron Cohen's has responded to Sarah Palin's claim that she was exploited, calling it "FAKE NEWS". "But ma'am I do believe you have been hit by a bullshit grenade and now now bleedin' FAKE NEWS".

"Who is America?", due to launch on Sunday on cable channel Showtime, has been shrouded in secrecy apart from a trailer showing former USA defense secretary Dick Cheney signing a large bottle described as a water-boarding kit.

Showtime has said the seven-episode series from the "Borat" star will "explore the diverse individuals, from the infamous to the unknown across the political and cultural spectrum, who populate our unique nation".
