Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Multiplayer Beta Begins Early Next Month

The first one is known as the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Private Multiplayer Beta that, as the name suggests, will be used by developer Treyarch to gauge the game's multiplayer modes that are not Blackout - the game's battle royale mode. Formally announced last month, Blackout is, obviously, not the most original idea; but, Activision and Treyarch are taking steps to ensure it has its own unique Call of Duty flair. Available on Both platforms, the beta will run from August 10 at 10:00 a.m. PT to August 13 at 10:00 a.m. PT. More details for this private beta will be given later this Summer. Combine these changes with customizable Operator Mods for each weapon, and you've got plenty of new strategies to experiment with.

Everyone who participates in the beta will be eligible for rewards once Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 comes out October 12th.

The Private Multiplayer Beta will feature six maps, two of which will be debuting for the first time. Unlike on consoles, all you have to do is access to try out this beta though those who pre-order it on PC will get an extra day to play starting on August 10. Additionally, the beta will see a mix of new and returning Specialists, such as Nomad and Prophet.

The Private Multiplayer Beta will feature fan-favorite game modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search & Destroy, alongside our brand-new objective-based game mode, Control, which was created to bring out the best of Black Ops IIII Multiplayer gameplay.

Control: Teams alternate between attacking and defending two static objectives with limited lives.

At the moment there's no exact dates for the second beta just yet aside from Treyarch stating it would happen in September and on PS4 first. We are so excited to be able to share that fun with you in September.
