World's ugliest dog dies weeks after taking title

Zsa Zsa, the English Bulldog whose long, floppy tongue and protruding underbite earned her the title of 2018's "World's Ugliest Dog" last month, died on Tuesday, her owner says.

The 9-year-old pooch passed away in her sleep Monday night, her owner Megan Brainard, told the Star Tribune.

"She is just so ugly, she's handsome", Brainard told the New York Times last month. "Sweetest dog I've ever met".

Brainard said the dog was staying with her father and he found she had passed away when he got up in the morning. Zsa Zsa's fans even wore shirts with her face on them. Brainard took him a year later.

We will remind, in late June in California was the 30th world contest The ugliest dog in the world.

After Ms. Brainard adopted her, Zsa Zsa spent her days lounging around, refusing to do much of anything unless food was involved.

Zsa Zsa's winnings included a trophy and $1,500 - a cash amount that was also given to Underdog Rescue, the group that rescued her. The dog had previously been rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri when she was 5 years old, according to the newspaper.
