Rita Bhaduri passes away at 62

Bhaduri was admitted to Sujay Hospital in Mumbai for the past few days, where she was undergoing dialysis on alternate days for the disease.

Last seen as Imarti Devi in Star Bharat's TV show Nimki Mukhiya, Bhaduri has left a mark on both small and big screen. We got to know about her being in the hospital. Her condition was not good.

CINTAA Member Amit Behl had confirmed the news to the daily and that the body were extending full support to her.

She was now a part of the TV serial 'Nimki Mukhiya'. Ms Azmi told IANS: "With her go my memories of an easy comradeship, much laughter and affection that comes from living together".

"The last time she shot for the show was nearly 15 days back". She also featured in Gujarati movies. Her resume also includes popular TV shows like Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai, Kumkum, Ek Nayi Pehchaan, Hasratein, Mujrim Haazir and Chunauti. She was particularly popular for playing roles of a mother or grandmother.

"We deeply regret to inform you that Rita Bhaduri has departed for her journey beyond..." A mother to many of us.

The actress' funeral will be held on Tuesday noon at the Cremation Ground, Parsi Wada Road, Parshiwada, Chakala, Andheri East. I will really miss her. She became one of the leading supporting actors in the 1970s, and is fondly remembered as Julie's best friend in the hit film Julie (1975). "I will never be able to forget Rita Ma and will never be able to come to terms that she is not there".
