Showtime Decries "Misinformation" Spread By ‘Who Is America?’ Victim Sarah Palin

Showtime Decries

Palin last week on Facebook complained that Baron Cohen "heavily disguised himself" as a disabled USA veteran in a wheelchair when she was "duped" into an interview.

In the first episode of Who is America?, Baron Cohen was seen quizzing Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders under the guise of "citizen journalist" Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr.

The segment is led by one of Cohen's new characters for the series, a fake Israeli "anti-terror expert" called Col. Erran Morad, who introduces a fake program, "Kinderguardians", which would arm children as young as three.

Ph.D. has been referred to as a disabled veteran in some reports and Sarah Palin credits this information as why she granted an interview for the show.

Showtime also points out that Cohen's character "did not wear military apparel of any kind" in his interviews with Senator Bernie Sanders and Palin and even specifies at one point in the show that he is not disabled.

The term "stolen valor" refers to people who claim falsely to have served in the United States military.

Last Tuesday, Palin, 54, slammed Cohen, claiming she had been "duped" into doing a sit-down interview and was among others in the public eye who had "fallen victim" to his "evil, exploitive, sick 'humor'".

"Baron Cohen did not present himself as a disabled veteran, and viewers nationwide who watched the premiere on Sunday can now attest to that", the pay cabler said.

"Do I believe kindergarteners should be armed?"

Two weeks ago Sacha Baron Cohen cryptically tweeted that was working on a new project that would possibly involve Donald Trump and Cohen's usual parody antics.

Her words kicked off a #BoycottShowtime campaign on Twitter while an anti-Baron Cohen billboard appeared across the street from CBS studios in Los Angeles that's said to be by a "conservative street artist". "I sat through a long "interview" full of Hollywoodism's [sic] disrespect and sarcasm - but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out", Palin wrote on Facebook.
