Manchester United's Anthony Martial risks fine after going AWOL

Mourinho saw his side beat European champions Real Madrid 2-1 in the United States on Tuesday night - thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera - with his side now set to return to Europe following their pre-season tour.

Chilean forward Sanchez impressed against Real in the final match of United's five-game trip, scoring United's first and creating the second when he nodded Juan Mata's cross into the path of Herrera, who finished with a first-time shot.

There are reports that Martial will be disciplined by the club for going AWOL, but United have refused to comment on these claims.

Jose Mourinho is "confident" of bringing one more player to Manchester United before the transfer window closes for business.

Jose Mourinho is open to selling him, too, but only for £70m - nearly double what United initially paid for him in 2015. These are the players that we have plus Lindelof, that started training two days ago, plus Marcus Rashford, Jones and Lukaku, because they gave to the group and to the team three days of their holidays.

"So if I get one player until the end of the market, that's fine". "Without the great support from the fans, he would have already asked to leave the club".

Karim Benzema scored for Madrid in the stoppage time of first half as the game ended 2-1 in favour of the Premier League giants.

Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku has curtailed his vacation and will join Manchester United at the start of their Premier League campaign, coach José Mourinho has said.

"The boys tried everything, they gave everything, they know we have to try to fight for the best result but tactically it means nothing".

Brazil midfielder Fred is the only arrival who will compete for a first-team place, with right-back Diogo Dalot a prospect for the future and keeper Lee Grant a back-up.
