Alexandre Lacazette’s injury time goal saves match for Arsenal against Chelsea

New Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is "not happy" and plans to have a conversation with star attacker Willian after the Brazil global was delayed in his return to the club after the World Cup.

Petr Cech was the hero against his former club as Arsenal beat Chelsea 6-5 on penalties after the two sides played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the International Champions Cup at the Aviva Stadium.

Willian has been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid, and his Chelsea future was thrown into more doubt when the Brazil global failed to report for pre-season training on time.

Speaking after Arsenal's penalty-shootout victory over Chelsea, Sarri said he finds the finds the situation unusual but added that he wants to discuss it with Willian directly before forming a definitive judgement.

Chelsea will face Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday in the Community Shield before another International Champions Cup match, against French side Lyon, at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.

"I want to speak to him before I answer these questions".

Sarri agreed that the situation was "strange" and now wants to hold discussions with Willian, who has been linked with a £65 million move to Madrid, to first fully understand the situation. I want to speak to him.

However, the highlight of the presser was when Sarri was asked whether he was confident that wantaway wingers Eden Hazard, Willian and custodian Thibaut Courtois will remain Chelsea players for another season.

'It always boosts my confidence playing three games in a row, as well as starting, because it just gives me more of a lift every time I play. There is no news.

For the Blues, they looked far more comfortable and inventive in possession and were willing to dink passes in over the top when necessary, something Sarri will be keen to see become more effective as his players become increasingly comfortable with his approach.
