Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes join Everton

The Brazil worldwide signed a four-year contract earlier today, having joined on a free transfer after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk as a free agent earlier this summer.

Adam spoke with Luan from Everton FC Brazil about Bernard.

The Toffees have announced that Brazil global Bernard has joined on a free transfer, while Barcelona have confirmed that Yerry Mina has moved to Goodison Park on a permanent basis, and Andre Gomes has made the same switch, having left the Nou Camp on loan.

Valverde had made it clear that Mina's World Cup had not forced him to change his opinion on the player and with six centre-backs as well as six non-EU players at the club, Barca were always likely to sell. He is a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs.

Speaking to evertontv, Bernard said that the chance to join a "great club with great tradition" was the key driving factor behind his decision to sign for the club, vowing to help "make things happen" alongside former Watford manager Silva.

But manager Mauricio Pochettino insisted he is happy with his squad after tying down the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min to new contracts.

"I did not need any convincing to come here".

Many Barca fans were against Gomes' signing even before he joined after a somewhat underwhelming second campaign at Valencia, and he has never been able to rediscover his best form at Camp Nou. Both the club and the player agreed earlier this summer that a fresh start was needed.

Marco Silva: Silva said: "Bernard is a quick player, very good technically and he can play on the left or right wings and as an offensive midfield player behind the striker".
