James Gunn's Script Will Be Used For Guardians Of The Galaxy 3

James Gunn's Script Will Be Used For Guardians Of The Galaxy 3

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn is being courted by competing studios, all of whom would "work with him in a heartbeat". Disney looks to be sticking with its decision to remove Gunn as his offensive tweets do not fit with the studio's image. "Major players said to be interested in Gunn's services run the gamut between studios, including Warner Bros., which has its rival superhero movies via DC Entertainment, and high-profile and Oscar-winning producers". They've made it clear that they won't keep him on as the director, but there is also no ignoring the auteur imprint that he has left on the previous two installments of the series. That is a huge vote of confidence, however it is not entirely surprising since most in the industry who know Gunn have come to his defense, unlike the studio he helmed a billion dollar-grossing franchise for.

Their group action has yet to sway studio chiefs, and now Bautista has taken his support of his pal one step further, by claiming he will go as far as to ask to be released from his contract if Disney and Marvel chiefs decide to scrap the screenplay submitted by Gunn earlier this year.

Disney is reportedly planning to use ousted "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn's script that he wrote for the film despite being fired.

Yet the most tantalizing aspect of this anonymously sourced information from THR is that there is allegedly still some murmurs that a reconciliation between Gunn and the House of Mickey could be reached.

Disney, Marvel and representatives for James Gunn have declined to comment on the story as it develops. Dave Bautista doesn't want to have any part of that.

Since Gunn was sacked by Disney in July, he received an outpouring of support from his former Guardians of the Galaxy cast and from industry insiders who disapproved of Disney kowtowing to alt-right demands. While Gunn had already apologized for his attempts at shock humor, Disney still decided not to rehire him, even after a massive campaign to reinstate him.

Back in July, Walt Disney Studios dismissed Gunn from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 due to Gunn's past controversial tweets.
