Modric returns to Real Madrid training amid Inter transfer rumours

That option has come in the form of Chelsea who has been searching for a midfielder over the past few weeks and included the loan signing of Kovacic as part of the Courtois move to Madrid.

The report claims that the Blues are interested in bringing the 25-year-old World Cup victor to Stamford Bridge as Maurizio Sarri is willing to give him a central role at Chelsea.

Real Madrid will complete the signing of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea this week, it has been claimed in Spain.

Madrid confirmed Courtois will undergo his medical on Thursday before being unveiled to the club's fans at the Bernabeu.

The 23-year-old has signed a seven-year deal at Stamford Bridge, where he will take over between the sticks from Belgium's Thibaut Courtois.

Arrizabalaga becomes the most expensive goalkeeper in football history, ahead of Liverpool's Alisson, who moved from AS Roma for 75 million euros earlier in the transfer window.

Courtois made 154 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, helping the club to two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup. "It's an accumulation of things, and I am very glad Chelsea has chose to trust me and to take me in as well".

Luka Modric returned to training at Real Madrid on Wednesday along with five other World Cup players, against a background of contradictory rumours about his future.

The 24-year-old Croatia global arrives at Stamford Bridge with a big reputation, but there is no official option for Chelsea to make the move permanent after the 2018/19 season.

Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri praised Arrizabalaga on Tuesday night.
