Xiaomi announced the Mi 8 on the same day the MIUI 10 was introduced, but the phone arrives with MIUI 9.5 in the box, based on Android Oreo 8.0. The phone had already created a buzz when it was first launched in Spain on July 24. Moreover, the smartphone will be an Amazon exclusive in the country.

Mi A2 could be priced at under Rs 20,000 in India. The event, which is taking place in New Delhi, will kickstart at 4 PM. Though the major specifications of the handset are already known, Indian gadget buyers will be looking out for the Xiaomi Mi A2 price in India.

Two weeks after its global launch, Xiaomi has finally unveiled the Mi A2, the successor of its Android One smartphone Mi A1. An octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC powers the device. They are aided by phase-detection autofocus, and a dual-tone dual-LED flash. The camera lens comprises of a 12MP Sony IMX486 with f/1.75 aperture and 1.25-micron pixels, and a 20MP Sony IMX376 secondary sensor with f/1.75 aperture.

Mi A2 packs a 3,010mAh battery and will support Qualcomm's QuickCharge 4.0 in India. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, IR Blaster, and USB Type-C port. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the Xiaomi Mi A2. It bears a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, while other sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. However, looking at the worldwide pricing of the phone which was announced to be Euro 279 (about Rs 22,500) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Euro 349 (about Rs 28,000) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option, it can be said that the phone will sell around the same price point only. The Mi A2 India variant will instead ship with a 10W charger and Xiaomi has confirmed that it has no plans to launch a certified Quick Charge 4.0 charger in India through its online store.
