Kurt Zouma close to signing for Everton on loan

Kurt Zouma close to signing for Everton on loan

Keane missed just eight Premier League matches in his debut season on Merseyside and having a strong, established central defensive partner alongside him should help the four-cap player to return to his best form and possibly force his way back into the England set-up.

L'Equipe are an extremely reliable source, and the fact that they are reporting this indicates the deal is close to completion.

Zouma subsequently missed almost one season of football before he made his return to the pitch.

Spending a year ago on-loan with Sunderland, suffering relegation from the Championship, the Liverpool Echo reported last month that Browning would seek another loan move this season - but it now may be time to consider a permanent exit. With his prospects unlikely to improve much at Chelsea this season, a move away from the Bridge makes sense.

Manchester United were earlier linked with the likes of Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld and even Yerry Mina but failed in their pursuit of all three players.

"Capped twice by France, he lifted the League Cup under Jose Mourinho in 2015". But, before suffering that terrible cruciate ligament injury in the spring of 2016, Zouma was seen as one of the best young defenders around.

Zouma was signed by Mourinho in 2014 when he was the manager of the London based outfit.

Everton filed a deal sheet ahead of Thursday's 5pm deadline, but concerns were raised when no announcement was made this morning despite expectations that the transfer would be completed.
