Leicester Prepare For Manchester United's Harry Maguire Assault

Maguire featured in every game in Russian Federation becoming the nations darling in the process while Foxes talisman Vardy made four appearances despite suffering a groin strain against Colombia.

Leicester City are closing in on signing two centre-backs as possible replacements for Harry Maguire, for whom the club are expecting a bid from Manchester United before Thursday's deadline, according to the Times.

Its the opening day of a new Premiership season and Manchester united play host to Leicester.

The fee for the 25-year-old central defender was around £75million this summer but the report adds that United were unwilling to spend that much for Maguire. Of course I am happy about his performance and the performance of the other players.

"It is very good to have Harry back", Leicester left-back Chilwell told reporters after he and Maguire played in Leicester's 2-1 Premier League defeat at Old Trafford on Friday.

"Harry is happy to remain with us".

The transfer window has officially shut, closing at 5pm on Thursday meaning the Englishman can no longer leave unless it's to a club that's overseas.

"We want to keep our best players for the squad and for the season, we want to keep a good ambition".

It's been a rough couple of days for Manchester United fans in regards to the transfer window, with their club failing to bring in anybody as the clock ticked down.

"When he came back after the World Cup he could maybe feel nearly cocky".

"We found success with good moves and good quality and perhaps in the second-half we had good energy to finish this performance for another result but I think at the end it is a disappointment".

Earlier today, young Croatian defender Filip Benkovic became the sixth new arrival at the King Power Stadium after Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira, James Maddison, Rachid Ghezzal and Danny Ward.
