Ronaldo nets first Juventus goal in friendly against B team

While the Serie A season doesn't kick off until next week, Juventus fans are getting their first look at the great Portuguese as he takes part in a friendly against Juventus B, the Bianconeri's second/feeder team.

Members of the industrial dynasty - founders of Fiat vehicle manufacturers and often called the "Italian Kennedys" - have lived at "The Castle" in Villar Perosa since the 19th century, while deceased former club chairman Gianni Agnelli was town mayor between 1945 and 1980.

But with the extra excitement of being within touching distance of Ronaldo, the supporters couldn't wait and the match was called off 20 minutes before the full 90.

A pitch invasion from the almost 5,000 fans in attendance forced the end of the game after only 72 minutes.

Admittedly, he was playing against Juve's youth team in a pre-season friendly.

Massimo Savelli from near Siena, some 450 kilometres to the south east, got up at 0600 to be in Villar Perosa for the first time in decades of supporting his team.

The Portugal star joined Juve from Real Madrid in July in a €112million deal, ending a nine-year association with Los Blancos after winning three successive Champions League titles.

Speaking to JuventusTV, as quoted by Goal, Ronaldo outlined why he chose Juve above anybody else.

"With the arrival of Ronaldo our expectations are higher for the Champions League".

Goalscorers score goals and nothing has changed for Cristiano Ronaldo, who is off the mark in Italy.

After the game, fans at the game, who had come in their numbers to catch a glimpse of their new number 7, flooded onto the pitch.
