Resident Evil 2 Remake Premium Edition costs $900, includes Bluetooth keyboard

Who doesn't love a good collector's edition?

Z Version Premium Edition will include all the items included in the Collector's Edition as well as a Qwerkywriter S LEXINGTON Bluetooth keyboard with 4 rolls of police tape housed in ink ribbon containers.

Capcom and Qwerkytoys have teamed up to create a Resident Evil 2: Remastered Edition themed mechanical keyboard. The keyboard is also available without the game for 81,000 yen taxes included.

Capcom says it's made of aluminum alloy, adding that the return bar functions as the enter key and the paper knob can be used to adjust volume or scroll on a page.

While the Resident Evil keyboard is compatible with Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android, it's actually just a custom version of the typewriter-inspired keyboards from Qwerkywriter, which sell on their own for $250. The main sticking point is cost: Capcom has set its Premium Edition price tag to 99,800 yen, which costs about £700 or $900 US.

This means buyers are basically paying over $650 extra for the keyboard.

With Resident Evil 2 having won Best of Show at E3 2018, there's no doubt that myriad survival-horror diehards and casual fans alike are ready to get their hands on a copy of the forthcoming remake of the 1998 classic from Capcom. That collector's edition comes with a poster, artbook, soundtrack CD, Leon Kennedy figure, collector's box, and a code for additional DLC, and goes for a more reasonable 24,800 ($225).

The keyboard alone costs the equivalent of £530, while it's available in a bundle with just the game for £590 or as a combination with the Z Version called the Premium Edition.

Resident Evil 2 will launch on January 25th, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
