Fortnite New LTM: Soaring 50's, Plus Sniper Shootout Changes

The Soarin' 50's mode allows gamers to re-deploy their Gliders when falling from large heights.

Sniper Shootout, the sniper rifle exclusive limited time mode, is also back with V5.21 for a limited time, and will not include access to scoped assault rifles. "Jump in and soar to new heights!"

A few days ago it was revealed that the Heavy Sniper Rifle would be making its way into the game in just a couple of days. Most Fortnite players probably already knew that the biggest addition in this week's patch is the Heavy Sniper, but today's patch notes tell us what it's all about. Profile stats are not tracked in Soaring 50's, but they are tracked in the Sniper Shootout Limited-Time Mode, in which players do battle using the newly added Heavy Sniper Rifle. While it is incredibly hard to find in the game world, it's capable of taking down any material in one shot and deals 150 damage to players. The former's name is self-explanatory, and snipers will be the only weapons dropped in that mode. May the best aim win!

Only weapon drops are Sniper Rifles. This suggests it's trying to widen the gap between play styles, forcing players to choose between long-range weapons with slow firing rates, and short-range weapons with faster firing rates.

Available in Epic and Legendary variants.

Projectiles fired from the Heavy Sniper have less bullet drop in comparison to other Snipers. Epic has also taken the opportunity to reduce the Minigun headshot multiplier from 2.5 to 1.5. Epic has also resolved an issue with grenades that prevented their damage from being counted toward last week's grenade challenge.

Cloth physics have been fixed and will now appear properly.

Features bulletproof enemies that must be defeated with melee weapons, traps, or Hero abilities.
