Jordan Wanted as the DCEU's New Superman?

Jordan Wanted as the DCEU's New Superman?

It was released after a Hollywood Reporter article said Cavill's tenure as the Man of Steel appeared to be ending.

Look, up in the sky. Additionally, what do you think DC would need to do with their film universe in order to make this believable?

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill is set to exit the role of Superman, a character he's played in the DC Extended Universe since 2013's Man of Steel.

Cavill has appeared as Kal-El in three DCEU films: Man of Steel, which was released in 2013 and kickstarted the cinematic universe, the widely-panned Batman v. Superman (2016) and the under-performing Justice League, which was released past year. Whoa! THR says that Warner Bros "had been trying to enlist Cavill, who most recently co-starred in Mission: Impossible - Fallout, for a Superman cameo in Shazam!".

Beyond that, the studio also understands that bigger changes are needed.

Warner Bros. has been looking at different angles to take with future Superman installments and is now focusing on a Supergirl movie as the studio's top priority.

Patty Jenkins's hit is helping pave a way forward for Warner Bros.'s superheroes; her sequel "Wonder Woman 1984" is due out next year.

A Supergirl film will follow rival Marvel's introduction of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel - the first female superhero in the MCU to have a standalone film - next March.

Instead, Warner shifting its attention to developing a Supergirl movie. None of Aquaman's fellow "Justice League" members, including Cavill and Affleck, is mentioned in the credits.

Given the rumours swirling that Ben Affleck will also no longer be returning as Batman, it does seem like the Justice League is falling apart.

Meanwhile, Cavill is having a great 2018.
