This Marvel’s Spider-Man Easter Egg Is Really, Really Sad

Despite having its own unique interpretation of the web-slinger's established world, Insomniac's Spider-Man is deeply entrenched in Marvel's expansive lore.

All your annoying friends with Playstations have probably already gushed about the game in some way to you or - if you're lucky enough to not know any annoying nerds - you probably didn't even realise or care a Spider-Man game was released.

Surprisingly, Insomniac seemed keen and they reached out to plan details further and lo, the Easter egg was hidden within the game.

Following the game's release last week, Schultz uploaded - and then deleted - a video to YouTube explaining that he and Madison had broken up.

Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 has plenty of nods to all the various incarnations of the friendly neighborhood wallcrawler but one eagle-eyed fan has noticed an Easter egg to Sam Raimi's popular Spider-Man film trilogy.

However, he now wants it to have his recently deceased grandmother's name. In addition to find the Spider-Man original, camped in the drawing-hosted by Jake Johnson, who lends him his voice, you can also discover the young Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), or the Spider-Man Black years 30, which will be played by Nicolas Cage. Sadly for everyone concerned it wasn't meant to be and in a vlog that has since been removed, Schultz admitted that it's "the saddest Easter egg" ever.

The collection, brought together in a well-designed red box with a white-spider topper, includes the Spider-Man PS4 Pro limited edition console and its complementary controller.
