Aaron Rodgers Injury: Packers QB Gives Update Before Week 2 Vs. Vikings

Kirk Cousins was at his home in Inver Grove Heights on Sunday night, fresh off a win in his Vikings debut, a game months in the making, and so he had friends and family members over at the new house with plenty to celebrate. Rodgers, however, plays arguably the most premier position on the roster and is a rather significant cornerstone to overall success.

McCarthy said he is encouraged that Rodgers will be with the rehabilitation group, but stopped short of saying the team's franchise quarterback would be able to practice the rest of the week.

It's why the Packers aren't taking any chances on his knee, which Rodgers says is "sprained".

Rodgers said he was feeling progressively better over the last couple days, though still sore. "So we'll take it day by day and learn as we go".

Rodgers injured his leg Sunday night after Bears defensive end Roy Robertson-Harris fell on him with just over nine minutes remaining before halftime and left the field on a cart, but surprised everyone by coming back out for the second half.

"He's always responded, puts a lot of extra time in", McCarthy told reporters.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer was not shy about the fact his team will be preparing for the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

Cousins watched Sunday's rally from a 20-0 deficit with admiration, he said, even if he did predict the ending. "The throws, the way he extends plays, the toughness he showed". Sure enough, he did.
