JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon on Trump: My wealth no

CNBC reports that Dimon spoke at an event in NY on Wednesday where he described his bank's $500 million global plan to bolster the economic performance of various cities.

'I grew up in a poorer part of Queens than he did, but I am a banker.

"I should not have said it".

Many of you have been vocal that you do not enjoy our unwavering commitment to our bold prediction that Jamie Dimon is destined to be the 46th President of these United States.

'I should not have said it.

"And by the way, this wealthy New Yorker actually earned his money", he said. "It wasn't a gift from daddy", he said. The off-the-cuff outburst "proves I wouldn't make a good politician", Dimon said.

Dimon reportedly walked back the remarks an hour later, claiming, "I should not have said it". I am part of the elite, ' Dimon said. "I don't think the American public looks at Trump as part of the elite". The banking executive fully supported President Trumps corporate tax cuts that passed late previous year, but has expressed frustration with the White Houses positions on immigration and trade.

"It would be a little bit....remember that show 'The Nanny" with Fran Drescher?

In the past, Dimon has described himself as a patriot who wants to serve his country the best way he feels that he can, but thus far he has been reluctant about entering the political arena in earnest. There was speculation, after President Barack Obama's election, that he would be named Treasury secretary, but the job ultimately went to Timothy Geithner.

Mr Dimon has expressed mixed views on the U.S. president in the past.

Trump disbanded the board after he was criticized for failing to sufficiently condemn white supremacists in the aftermath of Charlottesville's rally last August.

Dimon was announcing JPMorgan Chase's $500 million initiative to economically advance select cities around the world. During his appearance, Dimon said he could outperform Trump at the polls - and it's because, in his view, he has a decided mental edge.
