Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max Pre-Orders Are Now Live

Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max Pre-Orders Are Now Live

Following in tune with 2017, Apple launched three new iPhones this Wednesday.

iPhone XS and XS Max Specs in China: iPhone XS is the smallest device among all the iPhones that have launched at the yesterday's Apple event.

Apple has unveiled details of its latest in-house Arm-based system-on-chip (SoC), the A12 Bionic, powering its next-generation smartphones - and in doing so may beat rival Huawei to market with a commercial 7nm part.

Arguably the most notable new product: the iPhone Xr delivers iPhone X style with a price cut and some caveats. Pricing starts at $599 for the GPS versions and $749 for GPS + Cellular.

The Apple Watch Series 4 costs $399 sans LTE, and $499 with LTE.

At the time of writing there was no pre-order options for the new Apple Watch on the Vodafone website - it merely has the release date listed as September 21.

Moving on to the iPhone XR's screen, TechRadar's Gareth Beavis reports that it is a 18:9, 6.1-inch LCD "Liquid Retina" panel, which is cheaper to make than the OLED panels fitted to the iPhone XS and XS Max.

As such, Gareth concludes that providing you don't want loads of advanced features, no "bells and whistles", then the camera system on the iPhone XR "will do you just fine".

The phone has a single 12MP rear sensor, rather than the two on the XS and XS Max, while the front comes installed with a TrueDepth camera for facial unlocking and selfies. Here's how you can pre-order yours right now.

You can pre-order an Apple Watch through Optus by bundling it with an iPhone Xs or Xs Max plan - this allows you to pay it off over 24 months.

The third iPhone announced on Wednesday, the "affordable" iPhone XR, is coming a bit later; pre-orders start on October 19, and shipments will commence on October 26.
