Apple's iPhone event: What to expect

Apple's iPhone event: What to expect

But now, since Apple has sent out media invites for the event to be held on September 12 at the Steve Jobs theatre, we'll finally get to know how much of these rumors actually appear on the phones. However, Apple is expected to face some delays with the launch of the iPhone XR as minor complications fitting backlights on the LCD screen have arisen.

The all new Apple iPhone Models will be coming to the market with a Dual SIM Support features. Earlier this year, a series of leaks suggested the first of the new iPhones could be named iPhone 11, while the bigger iPhone would be called iPhone 11 Plus. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what Apple calls the 6.1-inch model.

iPhone nomenclature aside, what really matters is what Apple's next-gen iPhone lineup will bring to the table in terms of overall performance and price. With that said, let's dive right in and start with the LCD model. As far as the nomenclatures are concerned, we still not sure whether Apple's product will be called iPhone 9 or iPhone XC and iPhone XS Max or iPhone XS Plus. In addition to updated specifications, the iPhone Xs will also come in gold (as well as gray and silver). Of course, with a cheaper price point comes a few tradeoffs. In fact, even the size of the iPhone XS Max may match that of 5.5- inch iPhone 8 Plus. Last year, Tim Cook and Co entered unchartered territory when the decade-anniversary iPhone X was priced at $999 (64GB) and $1,149 (256GB), the first time a mainstream device topped the 4-digit dollar mark.

The device hasn't been seen since it was announced at last year's iPhone event - so an update on a price and release date would be welcome. According to reports, this will make the display less likely to shatter when dropped.

One more thing: the new iPhones - or at least one of them - could also support the Apple Pencil. As per the leaked images, iPhone XS, it has confirmed the OLED Display as well as it will be available in new Gold Color.

Some purported photos of 6.1-inch iPhone prototypes can be viewed below. Add the expected price difference here in the UAE and, yes, it would indeed be at the same level of the iPhone 8's starting price here.

As per the opinion of the experts and Apple analysts, the iPhone XS may include a 10% to 20% larger battery and so, you can expect longer battery life. Some models, however, may come with 3GB of RAM, especially the budget model.

Both iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will run on the iOS 12 software.

Apple's annual unveiling of the latest iPhone is upon us once again. While there have also been rumblings that the devices might be priced at $799 and $999, that seems somewhat unlikely.

We can also expect fast charging, as Apple will probably include a fast charger in the box. We'll be reporting live from Apple's spaceship-shaped campus with all the details. The lower-cost iPhone could ship in limited quantities initially to gauge demand of the more expensive largest new iPhone.

On Monday, Bloomberg reported that Apple will launch "a trio of new smartphone models" at its Gather Round event, headlined by an upgraded version of the iPhone X which will likely be dubbed the iPhone Xs. In other words, the November launch of last year's iPhone X was hopefully the exception, not the rule. Suffice it to say, you will hopefully be able to pick up the iPhone of your choice, no matter the model, in just a few weeks. Incidentally, there are rumblings that the 6.1-inch model might be supply constrained at launch. The pre-order will probably begin in the United States on September 14 at midnight.
