Bengals top the Ravens in TNF

Bengals top the Ravens in TNF

The Bengals scored on the next three ensuing drives with Green responsible for two more touchdowns - a 32 yarder and another short score from the red zone. How will the Ravens contain AJ Green and Joe Mixon?

A second-half comeback wasn't almost enough as the Cincinnati Bengals held on for a 34-23 victory, riding a dominant start led by Andy Dalton's four touchdown passes.

Green is the fourth Bengals receiver to catch three TD passes in a half, joining Marvin Jones (2013), Chad Johnson (2003) and Isaac Curtis (1973). By comparison, the Ravens had only 27 yards and one first down during that span.

The Ravens finally got on the board in the second quarter when Javorius Allen rushed for a 1-yard touchdown.

"You better bounce back quick on a Thursday night and we didn't do it quick enough tonight", quarterback Joe Flacco said. The Bengals were tested on the road last week and came out on the winning end, while the Ravens were basically still in preseason mood against a bad Buffalo Bills team, which means that the Bengals should be more ready to get after it on Thursday night. Joe Flacco was sharp going 25 of 34 passing for 236 yards with three touchdowns and no turnovers.

Dixon has had a tough time staying on the field for the Ravens as he has missed 20-of-33 games in his National Football League career and can add at least another 8 games to that list, as he won't be eligible to come off I.R. until Week 11 at the very earliest against the Bengals. A year ago the Bengals eliminated the Ravens from the playoffs in the final seconds and you can be guaranteed that the Ravens have not forgotten that. You'll want to start A.J. He finished the game with five receptions for 69 yards and his three scores.

And then for the 12th time in the last 18 games they allowed points in the final two minutes of the first half. The game can be watched on NFL Network and kicks off from Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati at 7:20 P.M.

Again, Flacco tried to will Baltimore back into the game with this late drive, a 21-yard touchdown pass to John Brown. Rookie C Billy Price hurt his right ankle in the first quarter and didn't return.

The Bengals secondary, which was led by cornerback William Jackson III, took advantage of the struggling Flacco, as they hauled in two interceptions and forced another 10 to fall incomplete.

"Andy played unbelievable", said Green, who caught a 38-yard touchdown pass.

On third down Eifert drew a pass interference call on safety Tony Jefferson in the end zone to bring the ball to the Baltimore 1.

The regular season is officially one week old, and the Cincinnati Bengals are leading the AFC North outright.

But could Marlon Humphrey be the answer?

This performance against Baltimore is a reminder that Green just might be the most underrated receiver in the NFL.

The Ravens have a pretty good secondary, and they had no chance against Green. It didn't even take him long to have a career game.
