Jalen Ramsey continues to trash talk Gronkowski

Jalen Ramsey continues to trash talk Gronkowski

Reminded of those comments Thursday - and told that Jaguars defensive coordinator Todd Wash said that anyone who believes Gronkowski is overrated is insane - Ramsey just shrugged. Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and Gronkowski himself have all been asked about Ramsey's football analysis, and it figures to get mentioned quite a bit on the broadcast when the Patriots and Jaguars meet on Sunday afternoon. However, Ramsey said Aaron Rodgers also "does not suck" like Brady. "He's got to play us this year", he said of his star opponent. "I think everyone, whenever you play some of the best teams, you want to see where you're measured up to, and that defense was ranked very high all previous year, and I could see why". Period. So he's gonna have to come out there and line up on me.

While he continued on the same vein, Thursday's comment was slightly different than what Ramsey had to say in August.

"To respect the game, you have to play it fierce", Ramsey said. "Tommy's a, you know, I've seen him for a long time and he's a great competitor".

"Any time Gronk has been matched up with a corner, he's had a very bad game - and that corner has had a very good game", Ramsey said. Last season, Jalen Ramsey tried to rouse his troops by undercutting Gronkowski's reputation. Whoever goes against him, I'm very confident they'll hold it down.

Ramsey honestly and entertainingly made headlines last month with his comments in ESPN The Magazine and GQ that were less than complimentary about certain National Football League players.

Said Gronkowski: "I feel like this game you gotta keep your head on a swivel and be ready for anything". "I just got to do my job out on the field and just worry about that". I'm very confident in all of my teammates on the defensive side of the ball. "Like, I mean, if my brother, my dad, my mom, grandma was out there, it's like, it's on". Right now we're focused on our preparation for the game.

The Patriots quarterback tends to deliver motivational posts in the leadup to a game, and he did exactly that Thursday night, just a few days prior to New England's Week 2 tilt with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spoke of his respect for the game. Football's not a game being nice to each other and all that - like kumbaya ... "But after a game's over with, that's cool".

Ramsey was given a chance to clarify that he wouldn't actually hit his grandmother.

"I love the competitiveness". He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and said he was "doing all I can do" to be back in uniform for Sunday's game. "Grandma might not get up from one of my licks".

You've been warned, Grandma.
