New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe announced for Switch

Nintendo provided further details about the Nintendo Switch Online service yesterday during the Nintendo Direct presentation.

I fell for it. Again!

Another Animal Crossing character joins the fray. If the teasers are anything to go by, it's going to look absolutely bangin'. As such, we can finally confirm that we are getting the long-awaited debut of Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo also revealed that series mainstay Isabelle is joining Super Smash Bros. U Deluxe is scheduled to release next year on January 11, 2019, exclusively for the Switch. Whatever it is, we know that the teaser trailer did not consist of gameplay footage (thanks to a note at the bottom of the screen that confirmed as much). However, with Luigi's apparent death being broadcast on the last Nintendo Direct, fans are speculating that Luigi may actually be a ghost himself in this new any case, we can't wait to find out.

It's also a decision that makes Nintendo seem short-sighted compared to its competitors, with Microsoft offering free cloud saves to all Xbox owners, and Sony storing PS4 cloud data for six months after a user's PlayStation Plus subscription has ended.
