Siena Poll: Cuomo up 41 points on Nixon

Siena Poll: Cuomo up 41 points on Nixon

"I have no idea who this brilliant lady is..."

Cuomo continues to leads Nixon in all racial, age and gender categories, the poll found. Nixon, a longtime activist and former star of the TV show "Sex and the City", has aligned herself with progressive NY insurgents like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and describes herself as a democratic socialist. "With a lead of almost 40 points among all likely voters, Cuomo has a lead of at least 20 points with every demographic group and leads by at least 30 points in every region of the state", said the survey. The governor took a ceremonial ride over the new bridge on Friday.

68 percent of respondents said they had a favorable view of the governor while 41 percent said they liked Nixon.

In this combination of file photos, NY gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon, left, speaks during a Democratic primary debate in Hempstead, N.Y., on August 29, 2018, and Gov. Andrew Cuomo speaks at a press conference in NY on July 18, 2018.

The opening was pushed back because of concerns that a piece of the old Tappan Zee Bridge could fall onto the new bridge.

"What I would say is that effectively marijuana in New York State has been legal for white people for a long time, and it's time to make it legal for everybody else", she concluded.

Cuomo did not take questions from reporters in Syracuse, but while in Rochester, he did respond to the controversy surrounding recent mailers sent out by the Democratic Party, that alluded to his opponent Cynthia Nixon as being weak on anti-Semitism.

"I think he actually owes an apology - not just to say it was unfortunate, it was a mistake, or inappropriate, but that it's factually wrong and it's a smear, and it's a really nasty smear at a time when anti-Semitism is on the rise".

Cuomo controls the state Democratic Party and recently transferred $2.5 million to its account for election-related expenses.

The mailer goes on to say that Nixon supports the "BDS" movement.

Berman added another tweet Sunday saying his party will send out a mailer for the Nixon campaign "of their choosing" to reconcile.

Anyway, Cuomo insisted, it was the contractor's decision when to open the bridge, and merely a "coincidence" that they'd deemed it ready just one week before the Democratic primary. But during campaign stops in Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo Monday, Cuomo focused on President Trump, and didn't mention Nixon once.

On Staten Island, Cuomo sent his 87-year-old mother out on the campaign trail.
