Willian reiterates his desire to stay at Chelsea for years to come

The Brazilian striker said that he was glad that the move to Manchester City happened as he said that he was welcomed well by the club and the supporters despite Manchester being much colder than Madrid!

"I wanted to go to Chelsea, (former Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe) Scolari told me that I could make the difference for him in the team", he said, according to Marca.

Chelsea winger, Willian Borges da Silva, popularly known as Willian, has dismissed rumours that he wanted to leave Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

"But that's also the quality of Real Madrid, that's not saying Chelsea doesn't have quality".

"I am sure it was this that led to the negotiations to fail and it was a case of pride for Real Madrid".

Chelsea are not the only English club that overpaid in their summer dealings, with Everton's move for Yerry Mina, Danny Ings' switch from Liverpool to Southampton and Bournemouth's deal for Jefferson Lerma among the top-10 over-inflated deals.

"I hope they can go on and win the league".

'I always say that I want to stay at Chelsea as long as possible and I am happy to stay here.

However, the forward, who earned 100 caps with Brazil, has followed Man City from afar since moving on from the club.

But Robinho ended up at Manchester City on deadline day, completing a shock £32.5m to be Sheikh Mansour's first statement of intent after taking over the club.

The 30-year-old's hopes of securing a new two-year deal are, however, complicated by Chelsea's policy of usually only offering one-year contracts to players who are 30 or over. He went on to make 154 appearances for the club, securing another league title, an FA Cup and a League Cup. "I loved playing there".

"Milan, I was surrounded by great players; it wasn't the same at City".
