Xande Silva keeps up impressive West Ham form for Under-23s

Andriy Yarmolenko scored twice on his first start for West Ham as they climbed off the foot of the English Premier League table with a 3-1 win away to Everton on Sunday.

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford's poor pass gifted West Ham possession in a risky area and Yarmolenko, cutting in off the right flank, beat two defenders before curling a left-footed shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Shortly after scoring West Ham's third goal, Arnautovic was forced off with a knee problem and Michail Antonio took his place.

Asked by Sky Sports why he made the switch, he said: "The project and the coach".

"I thought he was ready to come on, but he was sitting on the bench. Antonio was ready but Lucas had to warm up a little more".

He said: "My birthday is the last thing I was thinking about!"

And Pellegrini said he had been desperate to put the club's awful start to the season behind them, and get the rewards he believed their performances had deserved.

The Hammers have lost all four of their Premier League matches this term, however, and Collymore has said that Arnautovic is not the type of player that the supporters should look to for inspiration.

"We've had two fantastic weeks of hard training but that game was about the result, not the performance".

"It's easy to say that we are going to change and say this isn't the right way, but I am completely convinced it is".

"On some days maybe with West Ham 2-0 up they could come back but we must be able to repeat our performances".

With West Ham on the counterattack, Pedro Obiang played a ball over the top of the Everton defence that Arnautovic ran under before setting up Yarmolenko for 10 yards for his first goal with the club. I like to play like this way.
