Zlatan ‘Kung Fu’ Ibrahimovic scores 500th career goal

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored the 500th goal of his illustrious career, but Jonathan Osorio netted the victor to lift Toronto FC to a wild 4-3 win over the LA Galaxy Saturday night at BMO Field.

The six-foot-five (1.95 metre) Ibrahimovic joined the 500 club by releasing a perfectly-timed roundhouse kick in the 45th minute that fooled Toronto goalkeeper Alex Bono.

Only Barcelona star Messi and Juventus ace Ronaldo boast more goals among active players than the former Manchester United, PSG, Juventus and Ajax star, who joined up with the MLS side earlier in the season.

Ibrahimovic's first goal for the Galaxy was a 40 yard wonder strike that made the score 3-3 in the Los Angeles derby, following that up with a 90th minute victor in his debut match.

Over his illustrious club career, he also has scored for Paris Saint-Germain (156 goals), Inter Milan (66), AC Milan (56), Ajax (48), Manchester United (29), Juventus (26), Barcelona (22), and Malmo (18).

The 36-year-old also has 62 goals for Sweden.

"Obviously it's not good to lose. but I'm happy for Toronto because they'll be remembered as my 500th victim", Ibrahimovic told TSN after the game.

Speaking after the clash, he said: "I was close to the goal". "It came from a cross and I turned around and I hit it". Jonathan Osorio's 75th-minute go-ahead goal halted a three-goal Galaxy comeback and helped give Toronto some much needed points in their playoff push.
