Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady Talks Working With Josh Gordon

"[Gordon]'s really been eager to get in there and learn everything we're doing and you know, just try to acclimate himself to what the program is", said Brady. If he does play, it will be for a limited number of snaps as Gordon has a lot of catching up to do.

Tom Brady was level-headed when asked to file a progress report of Gordon's progress with the team.

Belichick did say that Gordon has done well picking up the offense in his few days in New England, complimenting the receiver for his ability to work at learning the offense.

In Gordon's first week, he's participated in three practices and is now listed as questionable for Sunday night's game in Detroit. Gordon has not spoken to the media following his media, with the team willing him to dress alone in a spare room.

"Well, it's taking a segment of whatever the total is and taking the things that are most important and building on that day-by-day as time goes on", the Patriots coach said. On Friday, he said matter of factly, as usual, "Since the last time we met, we officially added Josh and Cyrus (Jones, re-signed) to the roster, so it's good to get them here". I think if they're in there it's up to the coaches to decide those things. "And until they're completed, I'm not going to get into it".

"The history of Josh Gordon is beyond riddled with off-field issues, substance abuse, consistently letting the team down that drafted him and continually, time after time showed faith in him and brought him back - I thought it was a bad trade quite honestly", King said. All it cost them was a fifth-round pick, and they got a seventh-rounder in the deal as well.

"I think everybody feels like this is a talented player", Belichick told's Scott Zolak this week.

"Excited to have him here and he seems excited to get to work".

NOTES: TE Rob Gronkowski, "limited" in practice Wednesday (ankle) was back at "full participation" Friday. That was the only game Brady saw any action in his rookie season. New England hasn't lost two games in a row since 2015 and is 12-1 since 2002 (the loss in 2012) after a September loss.
