Tiger Woods back at East Lake and couldn’t be prouder

Tiger Woods back at East Lake and couldn’t be prouder

"I seem to have got most of those things going well, but there's always something missing". Woods' personal issues didn't bother me because I never saw him as anything more than a pro athlete selling an image, but I get why it turned off others.

TIGER WOODS believes the two teams are evenly matched as he prepares to play the Ryder Cup for the first time since 2012.

A FedEx Cup title for Smith would require him to win the Tour Championship and have a flawless storm of results from the top-five seeds, starting with top-ranked Bryson DeChambeau finishing in a three-way tie for fourth or worse. Thomas was runner-up at East Lake a year ago, which was enough for him to move past Jordan Spieth and capture the cup.

"I'm excited to have an opportunity to do something that no one has ever done, which is pretty cool", Thomas said.

The Tour Championship is the final event of the US$67 million FedExCup playoffs series, where the leading points scorer will pocket a US$10 million bonus.

That's kind of how I feel about Woods, who won this tournament in 2007. He's won three tournaments on the PGA Tour this year and has a total of nine top-10 finishes.

The 42-year-old has been mightily impressive, racking up six top-10 finishes that included runners-up finishes at the Valspar Championship and the PGA Championship. His last major victory was in 2008.

It was an example that even some of the best in the world can't bank on making it back to East Lake without playing great golf.

"It's something I haven't done in a number of years and this is a good starting point". Woods had the lead on the 11th hole at the British before fading to a tie for sixth.

Monahan was speaking at the confirmation of major changes to the 2018/19 PGA Tour schedule with the Play-Off Series to be reduced from four to three events and with a new final event scoring system.

One huge surprise the model is calling for in its 2018 Tour Championship picks: Woods, the only player to win the FedEx Cup a few times, makes a strong run but falls just short of winning the title.

"You know, see how I do this time around, because I haven't ever - ever since I've played it, it's been in May and it's been Bermuda that's firm and fast".

I'm excited about the Ryder Cup and excited about the FedEx Cup.

Bradley will win the FedEx Cup if he wins at East Lake and DeChambeau does anything other than a solo second.

Tony Finau is looking forward to his first Ryder Cup, representing the United States next week in France.
