Barbara Bush Marries Craig Coyne in Secret Weekend Wedding

Barbara Bush Marries Craig Coyne in Secret Weekend Wedding

After Page Six exclusively revealed that mysterious invitations were sent out for a "celebration" of former first daughter Bush and her relationship with actor Craig Coyne of less than a year, it turns out that the party was exactly what we thought - a wedding.

"It was a very secret wedding, a little bit like my elusive sister, but also, just family in a place that means family love, and it was just lovely", she said. "And we're thrilled to welcome Craig Coyne to our family", the former president wrote on Instagram.

"My heart exploded last night as I watched my dearest sissy get married in Maine".

Jenna told her "Today" co-hosts that she's still emotional following the special family weekend. And then on Sunday, there was a tease of an Instagram post on the account of SullyHWBush, the adorable Labrador owned by former president George H.W. Bush, the bride's grandfather. The ceremony was officiated by Bush's aunt, Dorothy "Doro" Bush Koch.

In another photo, Bush Hager held onto her sister in a loving embrace. It was a "very short, sweet ceremony", Barbara told PEOPLE.

Former first lady Barbara Bush, the bride's grandmother and namesake, died in April. A pair of earrings from her sister Jenna.

The newlyweds will live in New York City, according to the Bush family statement. "And we've been long-distance for most of it - he's been in LA and I've been in NY - but we've gotten to spend a lot of time together". To make this romance even more heartwarming, Craig proposed to Barbara at the same spot in Kennebunkport when her grandparents got engaged 75 years earlier.
