Manchester United come from behind to give under-pressure Mourinho victory

Zizou has been touted constantly as the man who is destined to replace the Portuguese tactician, but the France legend's agent, Alain Migliaccio, has quashed the rumours, insisting to Journal du Dimanche: "I do not think that he will manage in England".

Should Jose Mourinho still be sacked, despite the win over Newcastle? I discussed it with him and the idea really does not attract him at all.

Sure, it started off well with a swift return to the Champions League by way of winning a silver pot with slightly more prestige than the Carabao Cup, yet after a torrid start to the 2018/19 Premier League campaign, the Mourinho-United liaison has become an unsalvageable mess.

The dramatic comeback against Newcastle cleared some of the clouds over Old Trafford, and then Zidane Zidane's agent ruled the Frenchman out of taking up the United job.

Mourinho is subsequently expected to be in charge of United's visit to Chelsea after the global break.

"We felt that if we scored it was not impossible, especially at Old Trafford". He certainly has the credentials to take over at another big club, but United will not want to take on one of Chelsea's cast offs. "But the fact they were 2-0 down in the first place says it all", he added.

Former Liverpool boss and the current Celtic gaffer is fourth favourite to take over from Jose Mourinho.

That leaves Woodward staring down the barrel - with many fans ready to turn on the Glazers' head man at Old Trafford if he gets his managerial recruitment wrong for a FOURTH time since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013. Absolutely no chance. He does not have the CV or the managerial credentials and would face a hammering from the press and fans.

So that is it.

"Every time there is a new player coming in we try and make him feel comfortable and that's the key".

Mourinho was justified in feeling relieved amid a swirl of speculation about him being fired as manager during the last weekend of action for two weeks before the worldwide break. The dressing room has always been good and that's always been the case at Manchester United and we did what we had to do. Zidane aside, things would not look bright for Manchester United.
