Kanye West is headed to the White House

Kanye West, one of President Donald Trump's most prominent and ardent celebrity supporters, is reportedly scheduled to meet with the president at the White House on Thursday - less than two weeks after the musician caught flak for defending Trump in a scattered rant delivered on the "Saturday Night Live" set.

On Monday, the singer-songwriter Taylor Swift endorsed two Democrats for the United States mid-term elections, prompting Mr Trump to tell reporters that he likes "Taylor's music about 25% less now". According to sources who spoke with the Times, West wants to discuss criminal justice reform (which Kushner has supposedly been working on) and the scarcity of manufacturing jobs in West's native Chicago. At the time, the singer John Legend, a close friend of Mr West, called the meeting a "publicity stunt".

During last week's "SNL" season premiere, West wore a "Make America Great Again" hat while speaking about a Democratic plan to "take the fathers out the home and put them on welfare".

West was also booed while making a pro-Trump speech when the cameras stopped rolling on the popular United States show in September.

The 25-year-old pop star took to Instagram Stories over the weekend to give her fiance, Pete Davidson, some love, and in the process managed to throw the subtlest of shades at Kanye West. Like Joey Chestnut is a hot dog-eating genius. Kanye, I know you're like, 'Yo, this is the real me, I'm off the meds'. "You heard 'em. They scream at me". I'm on them. There's nothing wrong with taking them. "Being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jackass".
