Peyton Manning congratulates Drew Brees for breaking his passing yards record

The 39-year-old Brees broke the record with a 62-yard touchdown pass to Tre'Quan Smith to give the Saints a 26-6 lead in the second quarter of Monday night's contest against the Washington Redskins. The game came to a halt in order to honor Brees' accomplishment, and plenty of people on social media took time to pay tribute to the veteran quarterback for his impressive feat.

Manning was shown in a video slicing tomatoes on a cutting board when an off-camera voice informs him that Brees has broken his record.

"In all seriousness, Drew, congratulations on this record", he said. But Brees also would have to outpace New England's Tom Brady, who has 500 TD passes, the only active player with more than Brees in that category. Thanks to you, that's over now, and you've ruined that for me.

Brees came into Monday already in possession of several other National Football League career passing records, including most completions (6,344), highest completion percentage (67.1), most passing yards per game (283.6), most consecutive 4,000-yard passing seasons (12), most consecutive games with a touchdown pass (54) and most consecutive games with at least 20 completions (57).

"Oh, OK, so I still have the touchdown record, right?" All your hard work and dedication have paid off. ...
