ASUS ROG Phone getting its game on in the US this month

The 512GB version of the ROG Phone will cost $1,099, and if you opt to buy some of the accessories listed above, you can quickly reach the price of a decent gaming PC.

The upcoming Asus ROG gaming phone that first appeared in June at Computex now has a price and preorder date. The phone, which was first unveiled at Computex in June, will now be available for pre-booking in the U.S. from 18th October.

As hoped and as expected, ASUS' Republic of Gamers is bringing what is perhaps the most ambitious gaming smartphone to the US market.

The ROG Phone is designed for high-end gaming, with dedicated accessories such as the Mobile Desktop Dock, which allows you to hook the phone up to an external 4K monitor, mouse and keyboard.

All of these specs, in addition to the ROG Phone's massive 4,000 mAh battery, could serve to make the device one of the best gaming-oriented phones out there; at least, if you believe Asus' claims. Accessories will be available starting this quarter as well. There's the cooling system, with the "AeroActive Cooler" module, programmable ultrasonic AirTriggers, and a USB-C port on the side so cables won't get in the way, no matter which orientation you play. The TwinView Dock adds a second screen to the phone, and that will cost $400.

With the Gamevice Controller and the WiGig Dock - using 60GHz 802.11ad Wi-Fi - ROG Phone morphs into a portable console, supplying a living room experience, with a full inventory of physical gaming controls and ultra-low-latency wireless display connectivity for a seamless big-screen gaming experience that's ideal for group viewing. The WiGig Dock will be available for purchase for $329.99 United States dollars. There's also a network port for fast, stable wired internet connections. On the other hand, the ROG Professional Dock is priced at $119.99, and finally the ROG Phone Case will cost $59.99.
