Stardew Valley to launch on iPhone

Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone revealed that his popular farming simulator will be ported to iPhone later this month.

Stardew Valley is coming to mobile devices, and will be made available first on iOS through the App Store.

It gets better. Not only will the game cost a very reasonable $7.99, but it will include all of the version 1.3 single-player content. The folks over at The Secret Police, the studio taking care of the mobile port, are still working on finishing the Android version of Stardew Valley, so at this time we can't say for sure when it's going to be released.

It's the full game, not a cut down version, and plays nearly identically to all other versions.

Work on the Android version is close to completion, with news about an Android release "soon".

Touch-screen controls and redesigned UI have been developed for the mobile version. Stardew Valley arrives on iOS on October 24 and can be pre-ordered right now. Mods are not supported. The Android version is coming later, but there's no official launch date yet.

The developer adds that the iOS version will be available for $7.99 and won't offer in-app purchases.

Lastly, there's a new trailer for Stardew Valley below which shows off how certain things like the HUD will look on mobile devices.

"And I'm sure that's nice for Appleers", you snidely butt in, "but I'd like to remind you that on RPS, PC stands for "personal computer" not "pocket computer".

In addition, you can transfer your PC save date to the iOS version via iTunes - though the mobile version does not support mods, so save files of modded games may struggle to transfer over.
