Trump lunches with Kanye West, will talk justice reform

The superstar rapper spoke at length in front of dozens of reporters and photographers - and his wide-ranging, off-the-cuff address felt like something of a rant at times.

"I tell you what that was pretty impressive", Trump said.

Kanye West, one of President Trump's most famous and vocal supporters, met with the president at the White House on Thursday to discuss matters including prison reform and gang violence. "I just channeled it", West responded. "The idea that he is some ambassador to the African-American community or from the African-American community to President Trump is laughable". The rapper visited with the then-president-elect at Trump Tower a month before Trump's inauguration.

Addressing Mr Trump, he added: "There was something about when I put this hat on it made me feel like Superman". We're talking about thousands and thousands of people.

Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow and Recording Industry Association of America President Mitch Glazier, along with other music industry leaders are expected to attend.

Trump spoke about the meeting during a Wednesday interview with Shannon Bream on Fox News. They've had that vote locked up. "Let me come over here and get in this fight with you".

Trump returned the love at a campaign-style rally in MI in April. It would have been very unfair, I don't think really the heat was very hot. "That's a very important thing he's done for his legacy".
