NY Giants: Odell Beckham Jr. Hits Saquon Barkley For Touchdown Pass

During that interview, Beckham didn't exactly defend Manning's quality of play, and then he indicated that he's not entirely happy in NY.

"I feel like, in the past five years, they found a way to play cover two".

On Sunday, ESPN aired an interview that Josina Anderson conducted with Beckham (and Lil Wayne) earlier this week.

"How do we beat this?" I feel like I can score a touchdown the first half, a touchdown the second half. All the top receivers get the ball the way that they should. "But, right now, I feel like I have to work entirely too hard".

Beckham threw a touchdown pass Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, the first of his career. Beckham said of his comments, "If it took that to bring us together I can take that".

"I was so upset when I watched that interview", Dungy said on NBC's "Football Night in America". "I haven't been in the place where I felt like I could really go out and do everything that I'm capable of doing", Beckham said.

It's not only that Odell apparently doesn't know how to field a punt, but it is the potential problems he could run into in being the punt returner. Can he still throw it? Asked whether there were an issue at QB - an obvious chance to stand up for the much-criticized Manning - Beckham offered up a reply of, "I don't know".

Beckham had complained that the Giants don't throw the deep pass, but they had six pass plays longer than 20 yards against the Panthers, including Beckham's long TD throw to Barkley and his 33-yard TD catch from Manning.

The New York Giants paid Odell Beckham Jr. handsomely in August, believing he was a big part of the franchise's future after a few rocky moments in the relationship.

"Alright, listen, I'm going to answer all the drama questions right now and I'm going to go back to what I said".

On Sunday, the second-year linebacker sacked Matt Ryan three times, had three tackles for loss among his team-high eight stops and forced a fumble.

While his words might have indeed inspired some of his teammates, Shurmur was distinctly unhappy about them.

Coach Pat Shumur knows his team as well as anyone and is optimistic the Giants will be able to move on fast and set their sights on finding the elusive win No. 2. "I addressed it with Odell". I publicly declared I didn't agree with his comments. Now, I'm not going to give the public a pound of flesh on this, alright. "That would make me small and not strong".

We'll see if the momentum carries over for NY on Thursday night when it welcomes the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles to MetLife Stadium.

Beckham, who signed a massive contract extension this offseason, seems frustrated in his role. However, the giants are 1-4, and Beckham has scored one touchdown this year. We'll have to wait and see if the Giants change their offensive strategy to please their superstar.
