Ramsey to stay at Arsenal throughout the season

Aaron Ramsey has said he won't seek a January exit from Arsenal and that he thought he had reached a new deal with the club before contract talks broke down.

According to BBC Sport, a four-year agreement was in place, but before a final contract was drawn up, the North London outfit chose to pull out. The Welshman will be a free agent at the end of the season and is also wanted by Liverpool, as per the report.

Ramsey is yet to agree to a new deal with Arsenal, with many reports suggesting the club are unwilling to offer Ramsey's desired salary.

The Welsh midfielder has been subject to interest from Man United in the past, nearly moving to Old Trafford instead of Arsenal as a youngster. "I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best now this season to try and achieve something special".

"Everything has been going great with the club". We thought we were in a position where we had agreed a deal but that's no longer the case.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Manchester United legend Michael Carrick revealed how his mega move to Arsenal in 2004 was blocked by Spanish football star Cesc Fabregas who now plays for Chelsea.

Juventus have made it a habit of signing players on bargains with Emre Can joining them on a free at the start of this season.

Upcoming January transfer window could see Premier League heavyweights Manchester United and Liverpool go head to head to land Arsenal's no.8 Aaron Ramsey.

Mourinho likes Ramsey as a player but you get the sense he will - assuming he's still manager - want to focus on bolstering his defence over the January transfer window.
