Man falls 2 stories on set of Mister Rogers movie in Pennsylvania

The movie "You Are My Friend" is about Fred Rogers, the longtime kids' TV show host.

James Emswiller, who won an Emmy in 2015, was taking a smoke break when the coronary struck as he stood on the second-story balcony.

The first image from the film, which is set to hit theaters October 18, 2019, was released in September, showing Hanks dressed in Rogers' signature cardigan.

Bystanders heard a odd noise at one point, went to investigate, and determined that Emswiller had fallen from the balcony. An on-set nurse provided life-saving treatment but the man was reportedly in cardiac arrest once paramedics arrived. He was injured severely at that point, and rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him and he was pronounced dead once there.

Allegheny County officials confirmed to ABC News that Emswiller fell around 7:30 p.m., and Mount Lebanon Police said he fell over a brick wall at an apartment building.

"Basically, he appears to have suffered from a medical emergency while on the balcony", Mt. Lebanon police Chief Aaron Lauth told People.

"He fell from the second story of the building". He was a member of the sound crew.

Down the street, people were eating at a local dining spot called Hitchhikers Brewery and they saw and heard the commotion.

Emswiller, who won an Emmy in 2015 for outstanding sound mixing for a limited series or movie for his work on Queen Latifah's "Bessie", has nearly 80 credits to his name.

Rogers, who died in 2003, was the subject of the documentary "Won't You Be My Neighbor" released earlier this year.
