Brewers, Dodgers even in NLCS after late night loss in extra innings

Cody Bellinger singled home the winning run in the 13th inning, lifting the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 2-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday night and tying the NL Championship Series at two games apiece.

Why is this Game Important?

In a tied series with the Brewers, tensions are pretty high for the Dodgers as they're looking to avenge last season to get back and win the World Series.

By the time Manny Machado rounded third base, the Los Angeles Dodgers had already started streaming out of the dugout.

The Dodgers are 5-1 in series when they own a 3-2 lead.

Game 5 of the NLCS, meanwhile, is on FOX Sports 1. Gonzalez gave up one run on two hits in one-plus inning, injuring himself while trying to field a Yasiel Puig infield single.

The series is tied 2-2, and the victor of the pivotal Game 5 will go to Milwaukee with a chance to clinch a spot in the 2018 World Series on Friday night.

Miley threw 5⅔ scoreless innings in Game 2 and jogged out to the mound in the first inning Wednesday.

Throughout the playoffs, Chris Taylor has been a hitting machine for Los Angeles, posting a slash line of.353/.450/.647. Now you've got a guy on third with no outs. "We're going back home, to me, in a position of strength".

"I don't really think about the one before".

The series continues on Friday in Milwaukee; if the Dodgers prevail, they will be headed to their second consecutive World Series.

Yelich isn't alone in his slump, however: Milwaukee is batting.224 through four games in the NLCS, striking out 41 times - which would seem like a lot if the Dodgers hadn't struck out 49 times.

Austin Barnes was probably the last person Dodgers fans thought would help their team win a postseason game.

Clayton Kershaw has a reputation for being bad in the postseason, but let's look at this situation for what it is: Kershaw has good starts in the playoffs and he has bad ones, as well.

Bellinger entered the game as a pinch hitter and replaced Enrique Hernandez in center. And I'm a different hitter than I was past year. So if this was Kershaw's final home start as a Dodger, if that was really it, he turned in a performance worth remembering.

In the 10th, Ryan Braun singled with two outs and stole second against Jansen, who struck out Jesus Aguilar.

Woodruff, the reliever who homered against Kershaw in Game 1, walked following Arcia's one-out single to begin the rally.

The Dodgers' defence also contributed to the woes with several nifty plays, including Cody Bellinger's full-stretch, diving catch of Cain's sinking liner leading off the 10th.
