Barbra Streisand Says She ‘Doesn’t Enjoy’ Performing After Stage Fright Hiatus

"This is a huge mistake".

"That's why I did this album, every song relates to something about what's going on in these hard times", she told the TV host. But instead of Uber or Lyft, he called on Barbra Streisand for a favor.

James Corden let Barbra Streisand drive him to work during Thursday's new Carpool Karaoke instalment on The Late Late Show.

Said Corden: "This is not what I need to hear right now". And her reaction to the lyrics was just as priceless! "I get scared, I just don't want to disappoint people", Streisand admits.

At another point, Corden asked her about "the moment where [she] didn't perform for 27 years".

The 12-minute Carpool Karaoke was a joyful one, filled with plenty of laughs of A-list moments. She says she's constantly talking and writing while driving, and that she's nervous behind the wheel. She has worked on it over the years and told James what helps her overcome her fears: Before going onstage, she said, she tells herself, "Let go and let God". She insisted that she never thinks of herself that way.

They also discuss Streisand's stage fright, her discussion with Tim Cook over how Siri pronounced her name, and her new anti-Trump album Walls.

The politically-motivated artist explained that it was the current state of affairs in the United States that inspired her latest album, "Walls", before she and Corden belted a powerful rendition of the album's track, "Don't Lie to Me".
